France's Fall Favorites

I spent my weekend enjoying some of France’s Fall favorites from the French Food & Drink Federation!

For breakfast I indulged in some delicious Favols Apricot Almond & Orange marmalade spread on a croissant and topped with brie cheese. Amazing way to start the day! I'm a big fan of marmalades and really enjoyed the blend of fruity and nutty flavors in this one.

For lunch, I made a Caesar Salad with dressing from scratch featuring Les Mouettes d’Arvor Sardines. The sardines were really tasty and packed a nice salty punch in my dressing.

At dinner, we enjoyed an appetizer of Hénaff Pork Liver Confit with Black Pepper spread over a lightly toasted baguette. Believe it or not, I had successfully avoided pâté up until this point in my life, but I will always try anything once. While the consistency of liver in any form is not for me personally, I did enjoy the flavor and the spice the black pepper brought to my hors d’oeuvre. To accompany it, I created a cocktail composed of Elixia Sparkling French Lemonade with vodka and a splash of cranberry juice. Classy cocktail hour! The sparkling lemonade was light and fizzy, and really tasted like summer. I would definitely have it again as either the cocktail or a standalone beverage.

For dessert, I curled up on the couch with a movie and the classic French candy Carambars, which are essentially a rolled caramel candy. I paired them with a bowl of popcorn for some sweet and savory deliciousness. These candies are super chewy and sweet, and totally fulfilled my after-dinner sweets craving!

Throughout the day, I was brought back to my childhood by these Anis de Falvigny mints, which are remnant of Violet candies I used to enjoy regularly in my childhood. These are staying in my purse for when I need a little sugar-kick in my day!
